In our section: ‘Employee in the spotlight’ we would like to show which people are behind our organisation. Every day, Archive-IT is committed to supporting organisations in the transition from a paper to a digital working environment. In addition, software is developed to guarantee safe, digital accessibility. But who does what? And what are the motives of the employees of the Archive-IT team? Time for a look behind the scenes.

In the ‘Employee in the spotlight’ of September, Daniela Sanhueza was nominated by Henk Westhuis. We would like to introduce Daniela to you!

How did you end up at Archive-IT?

“I studied architecture and in that capacity I ended up at the Innofabriek in Reuver at the end of 2014. I was mainly involved with 3d scanners, because of my background in architecture I already had experience with 3d software. As a result, I quickly picked up the information about the technology behind 3d scanning. After having worked at the Innofabriek for 4 years, one year ago I got the chance to start working at Archive-IT as a Data Analyst. What struck the people at Archive-IT was that I look at things (in this case data) in a completely different way. However, I did not have much knowledge of data analysis. At Archive-IT I was given the opportunity to study Data Science for five months. I finished this course in a positive way, which gives me a good basis and allows me to develop myself further from this point of view.”

Daniela, can you tell us something about what the Data Analyst function entails?

“Data Analyst means that you process the data that comes in into readable information. We no longer just make a ‘flat image’ of a scan, but we will actually do something with the information that a document contains. This involves a lot of steps and technologies. Think of OCR (making text searchable) and indexing and classifying documents. By doing more with a digital document, we can ensure that words in that text are identified and classified. Whether it’s an invoice, a quotation or a letter, it doesn’t matter. We enrich the digital documents, as it were, by analysing the data. We call this process vitalisation. This can be very valuable for many organisations. It all sounds very complicated, but actually we only make it easier for our customer by adding this technology. And that the customer can access his/her documents in a simple way, quickly, that’s what it’s all about.”

Can you tell us more about your background?

“I’ve been living in the Netherlands for almost seven years now, but I was born and raised in Chile. This is where I studied architecture. After this study I went to do a master in Spain for 1.5 years. After this master I went back to Chile. In that period I got to know my husband. For love I left everything in Chile, my homeland, and I emigrated to Reuver. Believe me, that’s quite a change! After two years of integration I started working at the Innofabriek and now for one year at Archive-IT. But I haven’t (yet) been able to get used to the weather!”

What do you get out of your work?

“My life in the Netherlands is quite a challenge, when I look at the culture and the language for example. That’s why it’s so nice that I learn new things at work every day. I also notice that within Archive-IT I get a lot of room to develop myself. This means that every day is different at work. The colleagues are also very friendly, there is a good atmosphere in the office and the days go by very quickly. In addition, I enjoy working in a tidy environment and within a well-organised organisation. That’s a big difference compared to Chile, where everything is very chaotic.”

Nice to know: Daniela has just returned from 25 days of Chile, where she visited her native country for the first time together with her two-year-old daughter.

For the next month you can put someone in the spotlight. Who do you want to nominate and why?

“I would like to nominate Marnick Bronckhorst. He entered Archive-IT as an intern last year and was then offered a job. And that while his studies have not yet been completed. In the summer he worked here full-time and now he works here one day a week and goes to school the other days. I think it’s great how he has developed within the organisation and how he combines all this!”
